Ok, so finished skully a long time ago, but I haven't posted in here for a really really long time. I make a lot of hats; they're fun and they don't take too long and they're nice to give as presents. I'm making one for Jason and I just finished one for Margie at work. I'm supposed to make one for Ian, the crazy Irish guy I met online and mom wants one too.

I've only just started working on matt's afghan. I offer to make him a sweater, but no, he doesn't want something that will take up so much of my time. So he asks for an afghan instead. Because that only takes three times as long to make as a sweater. oh well.

I'll try and post some pictures in the near future.

ok, so still haven't finished skully. but i'm working on it.

i finished the one sleeve on the the tuna trip and i've started the other one, i'm into the intarsia (finished the top of the skull, have started on the eye sockets)

i have about 5 other WIPs.

i'm so hopeless

(also, i saw a knitty gritty on double pointed knitting and now i want to make a pair of gloves. like, a lot.)

there has been a major halt of the knitting. i'm going to try and get erin to buy yarn for her requested purse, that way i can make it while i'm in PA. i started making a baby sweater, but the pattern was off, so i stopped in the middle of the back and haven't started again. i made the back too long anyway, and should start over, but again, i haven't done it yet.

hopefully, i will get much knitting done during while selling fireworks.

ok. i've now finished mike's birthday hat and i was all ready done with sara's cell phone cozy. i suppose i could start the purse, but i don't have the part of my stash that is necessary for construction. gotta find the stuff for hernandez's hat too.

ok, i made a new list of projects that need to be completed. i lost it, but i think i can recreate it.

christine's baby's sweater. will be daisy. can't start until baby is born, as i would like to know what sex it is first.

michelle's baby's (nugget) sweater. will also be daisy would like to complete before baby is six months.

rayne's sweater - will be childhood. needs to be completed by october.

mike's birthday hat. seaman's cap with fold up brim. half done. shouldn't take much longer.

sara's cell phone cozy - done. finished it this weekend while watching red dragon (i think)

brad's elvis wig. i'm not sure what possessed me to promise to make this, but i have to now.

purse for lady from kaffeestunde - can't decide if i should just make it from a mermaid purse pattern or make the felted fun fur purse.

nick hernandez's hat - has been started twice and put down. materials are now lost in the rubble from moving.

sarah's faux fur halter top. she has yet to buy the yarn.

my skully sweater. that goddamn last sleeve.

i think that's it. i'm really not sure.

if i think of more, i'll post 'em. it's really the only way have to keep track of them anyway.

so, i started making a hooded afghan on thursday, for christine's baby shower.
the yarn felt fine when i bought it, though the pattern was kinda ugly. i figured the odd frequency of seed stitch stripes was mostly to keep track of rows, but it was still ugly.

so, i knit a couple of inches, it takes awhile when you're working on the side of a blanket, and felt the resulting material. it was horrible. like fiberglass. i can't in good conscience give something that feels like that to a baby, especially one that i'm related to. so christine's getting an activity blanket from molly for her baby shower. and i have to find better yarn for other projects. perhaps some cotton ease....

ok, finished one sleeve of skully, but now i don't have the need or urge to finish the other one. it's getting really warm and i have a lot of other things that i need to finish, things that are much more pressing than skully.

also, i visited the snotty yarn store on chagrin blvd. they have a 50% off bin. this means two things. 1) i will be losing a great deal of money that i do not have and 2) i will have to visit the snotty yarn store.

and i've finally gotten back to the knitting.

i finished the chart for my started sleeve on my sweater. in finish line is in sight now.

i have to start my entry for the TNNA competition, but that means i have to find a baby cardigan pattern that i like (daisy might not work out the way i want for this particular piece) and alter the pattern somehow so it's not just something that i found online. also, i need to buy the yarn that i mean to use for embroidery, and that's going to be expensive.

i've also found a lace shawl that i want to make, but i've lost the url, so i can't post a link here.
