I make a lot of hats; they're fun and they don't take too long and they're nice to give as presents. I'm making one for Jason and I just finished one for Margie at work. I'm supposed to make one for Ian, the crazy Irish guy I met online and mom wants one too.

I've only just started working on matt's afghan. I offer to make him a sweater, but no, he doesn't want something that will take up so much of my time. So he asks for an afghan instead. type='text'>

so, i started making a hooded afghan on thursday, for christine's baby shower.
the yarn felt fine when i bought it, though the pattern was kinda ugly. i figured the odd frequency of seed stitch stripes was mostly to keep track of rows, but it was still ugly.

so, i knit a couple of inches, it takes awhile when you're working on the side of a blanket, and felt the resulting material. it was horrible. like fiberglass. i can't in good conscience give something that feels like that to a baby, especially one that i'm related to. so christine's getting an activity blanket from molly for her baby shower. and i have to find better yarn for other projects. perhaps some cotton ease....<div it'll only take an hour or so. (i love little purses)

project that have been planned and need to be started:

three baby sweaters, all Daisy, but with different embroidery on them. i'm going to make a blue one with a scene on the back (rainclouds, raindrops and flowers) for barb's daughter rayne, make a yellow one for christine's baby and wait until she has the kid to put either flowers or snakes on it, and then one for the up and coming watson baby who will have a plain yellow sweater. (thank god for lion brand "pound of love")

i'll put up pictures as soon as i can get them

ok, oprah has vacated my lap and i can now post.

i did a lot a little projects this week. two purses of the three i'm making for my little cousins and a hat for my friend brad. (he saw me knitting one of the purses and begged me to make a hat for him, so i did.) these small projects are more of a distraction from my first sweater, which is this close to being done ::holds fingers a centimeter apart::, but i can't seem to finish it. i would really like to finish it this weekend, or at least finish the sleeve that's 2/3rds finished (leaving only the other sleeve), but i don't know if that's actually going to happen.

Yay! a brand new blog, especially for knitting.

i would type more now, but oprah's being rather aggressive about possesion of my lap, so i'll have to post later.
